Soulmate feels like one of those newer Vienna bars that arrived with a clear sense of identity already in place. In Neubau, it combines a stylish, semi dark room with cocktails that are not afraid of more unusual ingredients, and that gives the place a sharper, more contemporary profile than bars that rely on elegance alone. There is ambition here, but it does not seem interested in showing off for its own sake.

What gives Soulmate its own character is the way it brings together mixology and a food driven mindset. The bar talks openly about its kitchen takeover concept, inviting emerging and established chefs into the space, which adds a welcome layer of movement and keeps the experience from feeling fixed.
