Hidden below street level in Bairro Alto, it builds its identity around poetry and literary references, with cocktails that connect to poets and a room that encourages a slower, more atmospheric kind of evening. That could have become too self conscious, yet the charm appears to come from how naturally the idea is folded into the experience. The bar feels intimate, a little mysterious, and thoughtful without becoming precious, which is a harder balance to strike than it looks.
