Japanese whisky brand founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934, with distilleries at Yoichi on Hokkaido and Miyagikyo near Sendai. Its Coffey Gin and Coffey Grain Whisky are made from spirit distilled in Coffey stills, the first of which Nikka imported from Scotland in 1963.
